The Association Of Image Consultants International New York Tri-State Chapter / Fashion Institute of Technology Image Consulting Certificate Program Award

The Association of Image Consultants International New York Tri-State Chapter (AICI NYTS) will give two (2) $1,000 Awards to two (2) students completing the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Image Consulting Professional Development Certificate Program during the last course to be taken. One Award will be announced at the end of the Fall semester and one at the end of the Spring semester. Both awards will be distributed at the certificate ceremony in June.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the AICI NYTS / FIT Image Consulting Program Award the student must have completed all courses required, all course work and be enrolled in or completed SXI 300. The application is to be submitted. The recipient must have strong academic references, excellent written and oral communication skills and have demonstrated their keen interest and participation in Image issues. In addition, the recipient will have completed an Internship project dealing with one of the current AICI NYTS chapter philanthropic initiatives. The recipient is expected to speak at an AICI NYTS meeting (timing to be decided) when the award is granted.

Criteria

These criteria have been set by AICI NYTS. Applicants must:

 

1. Be an FIT student receiving his/her FIT Image Consulting Certificate during the semester the Award is conferred.
2. Have maintained good standing in all FIT Image Consulting Certificate Program courses taken or currently enrolled in. Please attach a copy of your transcript.
3. Submit five references, including one each from the following FIT Image Consulting Certificate Program instructors: Image Consulting I, II and III; Fashion Publicity and Events Planning; and one professional/personal source (use AICI NYTS / FIT Image Consulting Program Award Evaluation Form downloaded from www.aicinytristate.org/documents/ImageAwardApplication.pdf or the FIT website: www.fitnyc.edu/professionalstudies).
4. Have completed a pre-approved Internship project on one of the current AICI NYTS philanthropic initiatives in consultation with the AICI NYTS Award Committee (contact Terri Murray prior to start).
5. Have done volunteer work for FIT, the fashion industry or the community;
6. Submit a complete and well-organized application.
7. Be available for interviews as necessary. (Note: AICI NYTS reserves the right to pre-screen all applicants and invite only the finalists to the interview process).
8. Be available to address at least one AICI NYTS chapter meeting, time and place to be determined.
9. Show evidence of support and respect for multiculturalism in helping people achieve their potential.
